The Weightron PMA-CX and PRM-CX stainless steel floor scales, together with our D440iS ATEX certified weight indicator, are ideal for ATEX applications in harsh environments.

NOTE: Hazardous area installations must be installed by qualified engineers in line with ATEX regulations.

ATEX is the name commonly given to the two European Directives for controlling explosive atmospheres:

 1. Directive 99/92/EC (also known as ‘ATEX 137’ or the ‘ATEX Workplace Directive’) on minimum requirements for improving the health and safety protection of workers potentially at risk from explosive atmospheres.

2. Directive 94/9/EC (also known as ‘ATEX 95’ or ‘the ATEX Equipment Directive’) on the approximation of the laws of Member States concerning equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

In Great Britain the requirements of Directive 99/92/EC were put into effect through regulations 7 and 11 of the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR).

D440 Terminal

D440 Datasheet

The D440 terminal Zone 1, 21, 2 & 22 certified, housed in an IP68 stainless steel enclosure with separate power supply PS440 that can be placed up to 10 meters from the main terminal in a hazard zone. It offers various functions suitable for weighing needs in explosion-risk areas, from a simple weight display to complex code management (Product and generic codes with associate data) and net weight calculation. Data can be transmitted via optional serial outputs and optical fiber connections for safe-zone printing/ PC communication or hazardous area analogue outputs can used to interface to a PLC, in addition, the D440 has  3 x Powered Input/Outputs in the hazardous area to control filling systems without the use of barriers.
