Medical Scales
In addition to providing new medical scales, Weightron also carry out servicing and calibration on a diverse range of medical scales. Calibration is carried out in accordance with the UKWF guidelines on medical scales. It should be noted that the use of existing scales that can be set to metric and/or imperial units is not advisable and can lead to serious errors.

Caveat
The Non-automatic Weighing Instruments (NAWI) Directive was made part of UK law on 1 January 1993. The Directive not only controls the technical and performance characteristics of NAWI, but also specifies which tasks require the use of “controlled” NAWI. One of those specified tasks is: “Weighing patients for the purposes of monitoring, diagnosis and medical treatment”.
This means that from 1 January 2003, all new weighing instruments used for medical weighing have to comply with the requirements of the Directive.
